Educate To Prevent

Human Trafficking awareness, preventative curriculum and counseling to young girls institutionalized in a government
protection center. All beneficiaries have had contact or at high risk of trafficking in persons.


FUNDS - Ziat Program Funds
The Center for the Protection of Girls in Ziat, Morocco

PROJECT ACTIVE - 2 years

Assisted young girls having been either previously trafficked though unaware of the labeling or connotations of their circumstances, or at a level of high risk of being trafficked. The beneficiaries received training in being able to identify possible trafficking situations, counseling focused on reinforcing their worth as people, and learning the channels and resources available to them enabling each individual to pursue a life of dignity and choice. 80% of the young girls involved in curriculum through the BFA transition home received truama training.

Feeding The Marginalized

Provide a traditional Moroccan meal every Friday to the community/target area where Beauty for Ashes works with
exploited women. Building trust and continuity within the community to form a safe space for women and families to eat together, listen and share.

- Establishing community relationships and rapport with the marginalized and poor population, including groups of exploited and abused women.
-Setting new societal norms and perception of marginalized populations through the treatment of all individuals with care and dignity.
- Establishing a trusted continuity and recognizable presence of BFA staff for members of the community allowing us to form deeper and more helpful relationships with marginalized peoples, at risk peoples and the peoples being exploited.

For Single Pregnant Mothers

Provide housing , shelter, assistance to at-risk girls while finalizing educational programs and establishing a self-sustaining path specific for each individual.


FUNDS - Transition Home Program Funds

19 girls have been enrolled and completed/ passed through the Beauty for Ashes program with varied results. Each individual has had different personal goals, educational paths, and career ambitions. All individuals are provided the highest level of medical care, mental health assessments and counseling, as well as working hand in hand with BFA staff to create pathways for each girl.
Currently BFA has 9 residents who are all enrolled in traditional education programs or apprenticeship programs. 6 of the girls who have graduated from our program completed college, high school, and trade school degree programs, and attained stable employment prior to the current economic downturn perpetuated by the global health pandemic.

Trauma Training

Provide training to House Moms on trauma counseling and best practices.

There are few opportunities to study counseling from a victim trauma perspective. So, our Founder Lauren Byler wrote and developed a training manual for all of our House Moms in their native language.

Summer Camp

Provide fun and loving environment to develop identity, dignity, and value.

Each Summer we provide a camp for exploited and at-risk women and their children.  The camp focuses on games and fun activities to establish value, digntity, and love to these families.

Art School

Provide vocational training for current victim of trafficking.​

Upon knowledge of underaged girl being exploited on the streets, we were able to step in and work with the family to establish an alternative through vocational training at an arts school.
